What I Should Listen For
The following are a list o characteristics the user can search for while listening: • Constant use of disjointed intervals • Colorful harmonies • Presence of long pauses • Unusual length of pauses • The disjointed intervals are used to dilute any tonal relationship that may occur throughout the musical discourse (the joined intervals lead us with great ease to establish a strong tonal relationship) • There is no chord repetition in any sense • While playing tow sounds at the same time, the result is a third sound • Absence of functional harmony • Application of strong forms of counterpoint controlled by the intervals • The sense of melody and harmony come together creating a sound object that is created by my imagination |
